Part-time Teaching Artist

 

Steffi Nossen School of Dance is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit dance organization in its 85th year of operation bringing dance to children all over Westchester County, NY. Steffi Nossen is Westchester’s premiere dance education destination with a school in White Plains and serving youth through adults in various settings such as afterschool programing, pre-schools, libraries, community centers and various youth programming throughout the community.

 

Steffi Nossen School of Dance is seeking-

Experienced Part-Time Teaching Artists with diverse training in different styles, including, but not limited to:

Hip Hop

Creative Movement

Modern and Composition

Jazz

Qualifications for Teaching Artist are as follows-

-Interested in upholding Steffi Nossen’s mission and values, furthering access and equity, as well as themes of diversity and inclusion.
-Passionate about Arts Education and Children’s Well-Being
-Strong Classroom Management skills, that include a positive and inclusive classroom
-Are as passionate about the art of teaching as they are about their art form
-Have experience with building lesson plans and units for instruction
-Are flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of different schools and communities
-Committed to bringing the love of dance to all children

Requirements to Apply-

-Must be reliable and punctual
-Ability to make a commitment to teaching during the day or after-school hours, at least one day a week, ideally for the entire school year.
-Experience in Dance Education, especially Pre-K and elementary school ages.
-Must be willing to travel to Westchester for classes
-Should have availability weekdays in the morning and/or after school hours
-Car not required but would be a plus
