Versatility is key when it comes to Gotham Dance Theater (GDT). We specialize in contemporary, street jazz, and dance theater. Seeking 1-2 strong, versatile dancers for our upcoming 2022 season.

 

Under the direction of Marc Nuñez, GDT company members learn new choreography every season and re-stage company repertory. GDT performances include, but are not limited to: evening length stage production, outdoor festivals, community events, and dance films.

Company members are paid for rehearsals and performances. Additional stipends for choreography and performance opportunities are available within and outside of the company.

Winter/Spring

 

Weekly Rehearsals (February through early May)

   - Various locations (Midtown Manhattan and LIC)

      - Thursdays 6:00-9:00pm

      - Saturdays 3:00-5:00pm

 

Weekly Company Classes

- Modega in Long Island City

   - Saturdays 12:00-1:30pm

 

Evening-Length Stage Production

- The Tank NYC in Midtown Manhattan

- April 27-May 1 & May 5-8 (Two Week Run)

 

Spring/Summer

 

“Summer Suite” Community Performances and Festivals

- Various locations (throughout Queens and Manhattan)

   - Weekly Rehearsals TBA

   - Additional "Summer Suite" Community Classes or "Dance Backs"

 

Fall/Winter

Additional Audition Information

 

Limited capacity due to limited positions available and Covid-19 restrictions.

At the audition, dancers must provide proof of full vaccination* AND a negative COVID-19 test* within 48 hours of the audition date.

Masks will be enforced at the audition. NO exceptions. NO virtual auditions. Extra masks and hand sanitizer will be provided.

 

*Full vaccination = two doses of Pfizer or Moderna or single dose of Johnson & Johnson; boosters encouraged

*Limited rapid tests will be available onsite at 2:30pm.

If you are selected to audition you will be notified by Friday, January 28th at 5pm ET. Your selection email will include the location of the audition.
