Are you interested in working behind the scenes to produce one of the world's most prestigious dance festivals? The Jacob's Pillow Summer Intern Program is now accepting applications for Festival 2022. Jacob's Pillow Interns receive on-the-job training to develop professional skills and gain practical experience while working in a team-oriented environment. Internships specialize in performing arts administration, technical production, education, community programming, and more. Interns receive room and board (on-site housing plus 3 meals a day) and a stipend of $2,000. Candidates may be eligible for additional needs-based compensation through sponsor support. Internships include access to performances, talks, and dance classes, as well as staff-led career talks and seminars. College credit, work-study, independent study, and/or cooperative learning programs may be available through your school. 2022 Summer Festival Internships will run May 31 through September 2.

THE BARBARA AND AMOS HOSTETTER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The Barbara and Amos Hostetter Internship Program (HIP) at Jacob’s Pillow is designed to assist the development of diverse leadership in cultural institutions and expand opportunities for early career individuals who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, Asian and other People of Color, and is part of the Pillow’s ongoing efforts to improve inclusion, diversity, equity and access in all areas of the organization.

For decades, Jacob’s Pillow’s Internship Program has been an important training ground for leadership in the performing arts, and Pillow interns have gone on to serve in leadership positions across the field. HIP will benefit up to seven qualified individuals who apply and meet the criteria listed below. These interns will receive a stipend of $5,000 (rather than $2,000) for the summer in addition to room and board and travel stipends to/from the Pillow. Interns will also have the opportunity to connect with Pillow Intern Alumni and other interns working in cultural organizations across the Berkshires. HIP does not exclude applicants on the basis of race or ethnicity.

The criteria for selection include:

-Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and interest in dance and/or the performing arts
-Race and ethnicity, in relation to their underrepresentation in employment areas of the performing arts
-Demonstrated work ethic, interest in learning, and eagerness to experience the breadth of Jacob’s Pillow’s summer festival programming and daily responsibilities
-Ability to contribute to a diverse environment
-Leadership potential
-U.S. citizenship or permanent-resident status
