Audition for Selah Dance Collective (NY Branch)

Selah Dance Collective seeks NYC-based dancers on a project basis. An audition will be held in NYC on Thursday, February 29 from 4-6pm. 

 

Auditioning dancers for a production with Selah Dance Collective at Gibney on March 29-30, 2024. This audition for Selah Dance Collective does not guarantee a year-round contract and is only for project-based contracts at this time. After one production with the company, promotion to company membership can be evaluated.

 

Desired requirements:

- Contemporary dance background 

- Experience with technical training in jazz, ballet, and modern styles

- Partnering and improvisational skills

- Willingness to commit, engage, and participate in a creative process

- Works well and respectfully with others 

- Dancers must be at least 18 years old, or by invitation

- Availability March 27-30, 2024

 

Performance Dates: March 29-30, 2024 in New York City and future projects.

Audition Address: Gibney Dance, 280 Broadway, NYC, Studio E

 

Meredith Cabaniss Ventura, Artistic Director, and Chloé Roberts, Associate Director of NYC Branch, will lead the in-person audition.

The form asks for the following:

- Name, phone number, email, date of birth (must be at least 18 years old, or by invitation)

- Comfort level with improvisation and partner work

- Resume and photo (headshot or dance shot)

- Dance reel
