we are bodycraft! founded in 2018 by professional modern dancer and personal trainer Emily Diers, bodycraft is a multi-modality movement studio in Brooklyn. we exist to help others connect to their body, heart, and expression through thoughtfully-guided movement and community connection.

we are looking for bodycraft trainers to join our team and teach the bodycraft modality. bodycraft blends dynamic dance cardio and creative strength training for a seamless flow in and out of the floor. we are really interested in helping people to have a more friendly relationship with movement and their body, and open up a compassionate, flexible practice that doesn’t shame, punish, or judge. fun, flow, connection, and inclusion are important to us. previous teaching experience is not required, however dance experience/training is required.

*if you are qualified to teach another modality (pilates, yoga, etc), we’d love to know about it! we are looking specifically for trainers to teach bodycraft, but the door is open to teach other modalities here as well.

more about the role and training:

- the training period is an unpaid 8-12 weeks where you are required to be in class minimum 1x per week, plus committed to the once weekly meeting every wednesday at 2pm.
- trainers start out teaching one class per week and incrementally add more class times, as well as different bodycraft modalities, depending on your skills and interests.
- bodycraft is a really creative, inventive, and expressive modality. we love working with people interested in choreography, who are very curious about the body, and connected to their artistic side. if you like to create, you will thrive in this role!
- we are seeking people who are self-motivated, are committed to building community, are reliable and punctual, and natural leaders.
- teachers are responsible for opening/closing the studio when applicable, and checking in their students for class. trainers start at a base rate of $40 per class, with the opportunity to grow.

if you are interested in this position, we would love for you to submit the following to hi@letsbodycraft.com to be considered for the audition on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2 from 2-4pm. this audition will fill extremely quickly and space is limited! we will begin confirming attendees on or after September 23, and will disclose more information at that point.
