Dance Instructor for Elementary School Students

The Community School of the Arts Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of young learners through access to high-quality arts education. We partner with schools and communities to bring arts programming to students who might not otherwise have access.

Opportunity Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated volunteer dance instructor to lead weekly dance classes for elementary school students at the Community School of the Arts Foundation. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire creativity, confidence, and joy in young learners through the art of dance.

Location: Mahanthan, Brooklyn, and Queens.

Responsibilities:

Develop and teach engaging, age-appropriate dance lessons.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Encourage students' self-expression and creativity through movement.
Collaborate with school staff and the Community School of the Arts Foundation team to align classes with the program’s goals.
Provide feedback and encouragement to students.

Qualifications:

Experience in teaching dance or leading movement-based activities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with children.
Background in a specific dance style.

Time Commitment:

One day per week for one or two hours during the school day or after school.
A minimum commitment of three months.
