Dance/NYC Partners with The Harkness Center for Dance Injuries to Offer Free Health Screens for Dancers

Dance/NYC and the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries, on behalf of Dance/USA’s Taskforce on Dancer Health, have combined forces to bring dance medicine screening and services information to independent, freelance and pick-up company dancers. On Saturday, June 12, 2010, we will offer no cost, one hour, confidential health screen for injury and disease prevention specific to dancer health. Only 15 uninsured or underinsured dancers can be seen and participation is based on a first come, first served basis. We can accept 5 more interested individuals for a wait list.

The health screen will be conducted by a Harkness Center clinician at PT Plus Plus (located at 130 W. 56th Street, Floor 6M- Inside the City Center Building) from 9AM - 1PM.

HCDI and Dance/NYC’s collaboration has been created to supply the local, independent dancers with a body of knowledge that will impact their health and career longevity.
