This event has already occurred.

When: Thursday, August 15, 2013, 2:00-4:00 p.m., Walking Tour of the Grounds: 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Where: Building 110: LMCC’s Arts Center at Governors Island (Special transportation from Manhattan’s Battery Maritime Building ferry terminal was provided.), New York, NY

Together with the Trust for Governors Island and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), Dance/NYC convened a roundtable discussion on future opportunities for dance on Governors Island. We are eager to bring together a group of dance makers who are interested in developing public programming on the Island and share a willingness to take the initiative to realize those ideas.

Dance/NYC is committed to building and strengthening New York City’s dance performance space, and to connecting its constituents to related opportunities and to each other. It works in alliance with Dance/USA, the national service organization for professional dance, to achieve this mission and execute on core program areas, including research, advocacy, and convening.

Now celebrating its 40th Anniversary year, LMCC remains dedicated to advancing artists, transforming audiences, and catalyzing communities. In pursuit of a sustainable practice, LMCC is developing methods to consider the environmental, social and economic consequence of all programs while examining the roles arts and culture play as change agents in twenty first century cities.
