Dance/NYC thanks all of its volunteers for the 2018 Symposium!

Volunteer Opportunities

We are excited to share four volunteer opportunities. All volunteers are required to attend an orientation which will be scheduled for each individual depending on start date. Orientation will be held either at the office of Dance/NYC or Gibney Dance.

Week-Of: Week-Of volunteers come in for a total of 9 hours over two separate days. The first five-hour shift must take place on the day before the event, on Saturday, February 24th. The second four-hour shift can take place the week before the event or the day after the event and is flexible upon availability. Tasks include support for administration, production, media editing, and post-production. Tasks include set-up, registration, guest relations, photography, and communications.

Day-Of: Day-Of volunteers attend the Symposium on Sunday, February 25th, volunteering for a minimum of 4 hours. Volunteers are typically scheduled in workstations, including production areas such as set up, registration, guest relations, photography, and communications.

Stage Manager: Volunteers working as Stage Managers will attend the Symposium on Sunday, February 25th, and are required to be present for the full day of Symposium activities. Stage Managers will oversee all sessions in a given room, ensuring that events begin and end on time, speakers are present and prepared, fill out tech surveys, post on social media, seating arrangements are changed if needed, and audience members complete and submit surveys.
