The Dance Program at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a terminal degree of an M.F.A. or Ph.D. in Dance to begin August 1, 2022. Our desired colleague is an artist scholar committed to creative, research, and pedagogical practice, and one who will contribute to the development and teaching of a diverse and inclusive undergraduate curriculum and to interdisciplinary programs and college-wide initiatives such as the 360 Program and Emily Balch Seminars. The successful candidate should have a broad perspective on the field of dance and embrace the decolonization of dance by advancing all dance and movement as equitable practices. We welcome multiple genres of contemporary dance practice and performance along with interdisciplinary specializations such as film/screendance, rhythm/soundscaping, improvisation/freestyle, environmental studies, gender studies, community-based/socially-engaged practice, and technology/digital studies.
